In this tutorial, you'll learn how to create Custom Audiences using the AEvent platform.

By defining specific audience criteria based on attendee actions and page visits, you can target your audience with personalized messages at the right time and using the right channel. This allows you to engage with your audience effectively and maximize the impact of your marketing efforts.

Step-By-Step Tutorial:

Step 1: Access Custom Audiences

  • To begin, log in to your AEvent account and navigate to your target timeline's "Audience" section.

Step 2: Define the Audience Criteria

  • Click on the "Create New Audience" button to start defining your custom audience.

  • Give your audience a name that reflects its purpose, such as "Saw CTA."

Step 3: Set Attendee Time Criteria

  • Click on "Add Condition".

  • In this example, we'll create an audience of attendees who were present at a specific moment during the webinar.

  • For "If", click on the drop-down and select "Time Attended".

  • For "Condition" select "Greater Than".

  • For "Duration," type in "85".

Step 4: Include Page Visits

To make the audience more targeted, we can add another criterion. For instance, we'll include those who not only attended the webinar for a specific duration but also visited the Call-to-Action (CTA) page.

  • Click on "Add Condition."

  • Click on the drop-down and select "Page view."

  • Enter the URL/link of the CTA page in the provided field and click on "Save."

Step 6: Set Up Targeted Messaging

Now that you've created the custom audience, it's time to set up targeted messaging.

  • Navigate to the Timeline you're using.

  • Click on "Create Action" on the right side.

Step 7: Choose Timing and Audience

  • For this example, we'll target the audience a day after the event.

  • Choose the desired date and time.

  • Select the event.

  • Select the custom audience you just created.

  • Select your SMS platform, in this case we're using Twilio.

  • Select "Send SMS".

Step 8: Craft and Send the Message

  • Compose your message that will be sent to the custom audience.

  • Make sure the message is relevant and engaging.

  • Select "AEvent CoPilot".

  • Once you're satisfied, click on the "Create" button to schedule the message to be sent to the audience.

❗ Important Note ❗

Audiences based on attendance time are only available after the webinar. They cannot be set up for actions before the webinar. Ensure you select a timing after the webinar for audience availability.
