See which action a join came from (join-link tracking)

After your event ends, see which timeline action delivered the join link each attendee clicked, in Campaign Analytics and Event Details.

When AEvent sends a join link inside a timeline action (an email, an SMS, a messenger message, and so on), that link now carries a small tracking tag. When a registrant clicks it to enter your live event, AEvent records which action delivered the link they used. After your event ends, you can see exactly which actions drove people into the room.

How join-link tracking works

Every join link the system sends inside an action includes a tracking parameter (for example, ?a=daOXhA) that identifies the action it came from.

When someone clicks that link to join your live event, AEvent attributes the join to that specific action.

You do not need to turn anything on. This works automatically on the join links AEvent sends for you.

Before you start

The event must have already ended. Join attribution appears after the webinar has passed. You will not see it while the event is upcoming or in progress.

Only action-link joins are attributed. If an attendee reached the room another way (for example, a link they saved themselves), that join will not be tied to a specific action.

Where to see it

Once your event is in the past, join-source information shows up in three places.

1. Campaign Analytics, Join tab

Open your campaign, go to Analytics, and select the Join tab. Joins are broken down by the action that delivered the link.

2. Event Details, Join Overview

From Home > Past, open the event. In Event Details, the Join Overview pie chart shows the share of joins by source.

3. Event Details, Number of Registrants Per Action

In the same Event Details view, the Number of Registrants Per Action chart shows how many registrants joined from each action's link. This chart only appears if at least one person joined through an action link.

Troubleshooting

I don't see any join data. Confirm the event has ended. Attribution is only calculated after the webinar has passed.

The Number of Registrants Per Action chart is missing. This chart only appears when at least one person joined through an action link. If everyone reached the room another way, it will not show.
