To use a Zoom event recording as your replay, two things must be set before the event: your Zoom account must support cloud recording, and you turn on the Cloud Recording toggle in your AEvent campaign's ZOOM Settings. After the event, you download the recording from Zoom, host it on your own replay page, and point AEvent's Replay Sequence at that page.
Overview
Getting a Zoom recording to work as your replay has a before and an after.
Before the event:
Your Zoom account must support cloud recording. Cloud recording is a paid Zoom feature. If your plan does not include it, AEvent will not show the toggle.
You turn on the Cloud Recording toggle in AEvent, so the event records to the Zoom cloud. This toggle only appears when your connected Zoom account supports cloud recording.
After the event: you download the recording from Zoom, upload it to your own replay page, and enter that page's URL in AEvent's Replay Sequence. AEvent's Replay Sequence controls who can access the replay and for how long. It does not host the recording itself, so the video lives on your replay page.
Before You Start
Zoom is connected to your AEvent account. If you have not connected it yet, see How to Connect Zoom to AEvent.
Your Zoom plan supports cloud recording. Cloud recording is a paid Zoom feature and may not be included on all plans. Check your plan at zoom.us before proceeding.
An AEvent campaign that uses Zoom as its delivery platform (Zoom Webinar or Zoom Meeting).
A replay page where you can host the recording (your own website or landing page).
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Confirm cloud recording is enabled in your Zoom account
Sign in to your Zoom account at zoom.us. In the left navigation, click Settings, then click the Recording tab. Find the Cloud recording setting and confirm it is turned on.
Important: Local recording must be disabled for AEvent-automated events. See Zoom Meetings + AEvent Automation Settings for how to disable local recording alongside other required Zoom settings.
You should see: Cloud recording enabled in your Zoom account's Recording settings.
Step 2: Turn on the Cloud Recording toggle in AEvent
In AEvent, open your campaign and go to the ZOOM Settings panel. The panel includes settings such as Select Template, Meeting (Mute All), and HD High Motion Video. Find the Cloud Recording toggle and turn it on.
If you do not see the Cloud Recording toggle, your connected Zoom account does not support cloud recording. Add it through your Zoom plan, then click the Refresh button in the ZOOM Settings panel so AEvent picks up the updated capability.
You should see: the Cloud Recording toggle enabled in your campaign's ZOOM Settings.
Step 3: Schedule and run the event
Schedule your event in AEvent as usual and let it run. When the event ends, Zoom saves the cloud recording to your Zoom cloud storage.
You should see: the event finished and its recording available in your Zoom account. Zoom can take a few minutes to finish processing.
Step 4: Download the recording from Zoom
Sign in to zoom.us and go to Recordings. Find your event, open its cloud recording, and download the video file to your computer.
You should see: the recording file saved to your computer.
Step 5: Upload the recording to your replay page
Add the recording to the page you want registrants to watch the replay on. AEvent does not host the replay video, so it lives on your own replay page.
You should see: the recording playing on your replay page.
Step 6: Add your replay page URL to the Replay Sequence
In your AEvent campaign, open the Replay Sequence. Enter your replay page address in the Replay Page URL field (include the full address, starting with https://), and set the replay Duration so registrants get access for the window you want. See Replay Sequence for the full settings.
You should see: your Replay Page URL saved in the Replay Sequence, so registrants inside the replay window are sent to your replay page.
Notes on Live and Like-Live Events
Both Live and Like-Live event types create a real Zoom room, so either can produce a cloud recording. Your choice of delivery type does not affect whether Zoom records the event.
