When your Zoom login needs refreshing, the way you reconnect matters. Using Re-Connect keeps your campaigns working; adding a brand-new Zoom integration instead can leave a campaign without its scheduled session. This guide shows the right way to reconnect, and how to recover if you already added a new one. | In this guide: Re-Connect vs. adding a new integration How to reconnect the right way Already added a new one? Overview
AEvent keeps each campaign linked to a specific Zoom connection. When you need to refresh your Zoom login, use the Re-Connect button, which keeps that same connection. If you remove the integration and add a new one instead, AEvent creates a brand-new connection, and your campaign is still pointing at the old one that no longer exists. That is what causes a lost session and the #web-002 registration error.
Re-Connect vs. adding a new integration
Refreshing your login and adding a new integration sound similar but do very different things:
Re-Connect (or Refresh) the existing integration keeps the same connection and just renews its login. Your campaigns stay linked and keep working. This is the one to use.
Removing the integration and adding it again (or removing AEvent from inside your Zoom account, then connecting again) creates a brand-new connection. Your campaign is still pointing at the old one, so it loses its scheduled session and registration returns the #web-002 error.
This applies to every integration, not just Zoom. Re-Connect keeps the connection your campaigns already point at; adding a new one creates a separate connection they are not linked to. What you notice depends on the integration: with Zoom you lose your scheduled session and see #web-002; with an email, CRM, or SMS integration, the timeline actions that use it quietly stop reaching that tool. For the general reconnect steps on any integration, see our Reconnecting an Integration guide.
How to reconnect the right way
When your Zoom login needs refreshing, reconnect the existing integration instead of adding a new one:
Go to Integrations and find your Zoom integration.
Click Re-Connect (or Refresh) and sign in to the same Zoom account when prompted.
You should see: the integration testing live again, with your campaigns still linked. For step-by-step detail on any integration, see our Reconnecting an Integration guide.
Already added a new one? Recover your session
If you already replaced your Zoom connection and your campaign lost its session, you will see registration fail with #web-002, no upcoming session on the campaign, and a registrant count of 0. Your Zoom webinar and everyone who registered through AEvent are still there. Re-attach the campaign to the webinar that already exists in Zoom. Do not schedule a brand new event, because that creates a new Zoom webinar with new join links and splits your registrants across two events.
Step 1: Open Schedule an Event
In AEvent, click Schedule an Event, then select your campaign.
You should see: the scheduler open with your campaign selected.
Step 2: Match the delivery type
Under Delivery Application, choose the type that matches your Zoom event: Webinar for a Zoom webinar, or Meeting for a Zoom meeting.
You should see: the delivery type set to match your existing Zoom event.
Step 3: Open the attach option
Click the small clock next to Schedule. This is the attach option, not a new schedule. AEvent then asks Zoom for your upcoming events of that type.
You should see: a list of your upcoming Zoom events that are not yet linked.
Step 4: Attach the existing webinar
Select your existing webinar from the list, then click Attach Campaign.
You should see: the scheduler return to its main screen with your webinar attached.
Step 5: Schedule the event
Review the settings, then click Schedule Event.
You should see: your session appear under Upcoming, and registration works again.
For the full attach flow with more detail, see Attach a Pre-Scheduled Zoom Event to a Campaign.
Your registrants are safe
People who registered through your AEvent registration page stay attached to the webinar, and their join links do not change. If your dashboard briefly shows 0 registrants right after attaching, that number corrects itself as soon as the next person registers, so give it a moment and refresh.
There is one exception. Anyone who registered directly in Zoom, rather than through your AEvent page, is not known to AEvent, so they will not receive AEvent reminders, tags, or other automation. If you need those Zoom-only registrants inside AEvent, contact support about importing them. Do not re-run people who already registered through AEvent, since that can create duplicate join links.
Still stuck?
Your webinar is not in the attach list: confirm you picked the right delivery type (Meeting versus Webinar), and that the Zoom account you connected is the same one that owns the webinar.
Registration still fails after attaching: confirm the session now shows under Upcoming, then test a registration.
New registrants are not reaching Zoom: your campaign's delivery integration is likely still pointing at the old Zoom connection. Contact support to re-point it.
If none of these resolve it, reach out to support and we will take a look.
