When creating your timeline, based on the template type you chose (or didn't choose), set the type of your timeline, whether Live or Evergreen.
Why would you want to do this?
Let's say you've built a timeline around a Live event, and that event went so well that you've decided to 'Evergreen' it. WELL, instead of completely rebuilding yourself a new timeline, you can convert your live timeline into an evergreen one with just a single change.
What's the difference? What does it matter? Below, we'll cover the few differences between the 2 timeline types and how to change your timeline from one to the other.
The visual calendar layout is the primary difference between a Live Timeline and an Evergreen Timeline. A live timeline targets a specific date, while an evergreen timeline is built around the day of your event but keeps everything evergreen.
To give you a visual example below, our first screenshot is of a timeline set as 'Live,' with the event occurring on September 16th, 2031.
The second screenshot shows the same timeline once we've converted it to 'Evergreen'.
As you can see, the main difference is in the layout of the day of the event and how the calendar view is numbered and labeled.
Ready to convert your Live Timeline to an Evergreen Timeline? (or the other direction), please follow the simple steps below:
Open the Timeline you are working with, then select the Pencil icon to edit your Timeline information.
Under Calendar Type, select Evergreen Calendar.
Once you click Update Settings, your timeline layout will appear as Evergreen.
If you want to swap back, you can edit your timeline again, select Live Calendar, and set a new date/time for your event.
