Welcome to the API Registration tutorial for AEvent! In this step-by-step guide, we'll walk you through the process of setting up API registration to an AEvent timeline. This feature allows you to automatically sign up new buyers for webinars as soon as they make a purchase.
By following this tutorial, you'll be able to seamlessly integrate an AEvent API registration with Zapier. So let's dive in and get started!

Step 1: Copy the Required Form
Copy the text below and paste it into a notepad or text editor for easy reference.

Step 2: Obtain the Timeline ID and Tenant ID
Next, we need to retrieve the Timeline ID and Tenant ID from AEvent. Go to the timeline you're using to get these values.
To get the Timeline ID, look for it in the address bar of your browser, it's the value after the final slash.

Your Tenant ID was sent to you by our Messenger Bot when you first visited this tutorial. This is your Tenant ID, please use this value.
Step 3: Set Up Zapier Flow
Navigate to Zapier and create a new flow.
For this example, we'll use Thrive Cart as the cart platform, but you can adapt the steps for any other cart you're using.
Step 4: Initiate the Webhook
In Zapier, choose the Webhooks option for the next step.
Select the "Post" event and click Continue.
Now, go back to your notepad or text editor and copy the URL.
Paste the URL in the corresponding field in Zapier.
Leave the form type as default "form".
Step 5: Copy Data Fields
Now we need to add the data we want to gather, which is what you have within your notepad or text editor. Now copy the following fields one by one:
Secret ID:
This would have been provided to you in a reply from AEvent support.
Name:
You can choose to include only the first name or both the first name and last name.
Email:
Phone:
WTL: This is a REQUIRED field
Additional fields:
If there are any other fields you want to include, copy their corresponding data from the form.
i.e. You can leave the "Webinar ID" field blank for now we did not use it
Click Continue.
Step 6: Test and Review
After configuring the Webhooks, you can now proceed to test and review the setup.
Click on the "Test step" button to ensure that all the information is being successfully passed from your cart to AEvent.
Once the test is complete, review the results to confirm that the subscriber's information has been successfully transferred and then Publish the Zap.
At this point, the subscriber will have been registered through AEvent.
Congratulations! You've successfully set up API registration for AEvent using Zapier. Now, whenever a new buyer makes a purchase, they will automatically be registered for the designated webinar through AEvent.
