Adding your ClickFunnels 2.0 Account to AEvent
To connect your ClickFunnels 2.0 account to AEvent, first navigate to Integrations inside AEvent, click Add Integration, then search for and select ClickFunnels 2.0.
Name your integration as you see fit, then click Add.
You will then be prompted to enter the three values required to connect your ClickFunnels 2.0 account:
API Key
Workspace URL
Workspace ID
To retrieve your API Key, log in to ClickFunnels 2.0 and open your Team Settings. You can access this from your ClickFunnels account using a link in the format https://[yourID].myclickfunnels.com/account/teams, then open Developer Portal.
From there, create or open your platform application and copy the API Key shown there. ClickFunnels’ developer docs confirm that API keys are created from Team Settings → Developer Portal → Add new platform application.
Next, copy your Workspace URL. This should be your ClickFunnels workspace subdomain in the format https://[yourID].myclickfunnels.com/. ClickFunnels notes that workspace-specific requests should use the correct workspace subdomain.
Then retrieve your Workspace ID. ClickFunnels’ developer docs explain that the Workspace ID can be found from the workspace dashboard URL.
Once you have those three values, return to AEvent and paste in your:
API Key
Workspace URL
Workspace ID
Then click Connect.
Once your ClickFunnels 2.0 account has been successfully added, you will see its Connected state, and you will be able to click Test.
A successful test result confirms that your ClickFunnels 2.0 account is now successfully connected to AEvent.
DO NOTE: ClickFunnels issues API access tokens per team, so be sure you are using the API Key from the same team that owns the workspace you want to connect.
Configuring your ClickFunnels 2.0 Integration within a Campaign
In order to utilize your ClickFunnels 2.0 Integration within AEvent, you first need to activate it inside the campaign you are working on.
Open the campaign you want to use.
Next, click on Integrations, set your ClickFunnels 2.0 Integration to Active, then click on the cogwheel to define your settings.
Inside the Integration Settings, this is where you will define what should happen at the moment someone registers. Depending on your setup, this can include:
sending the registrant’s information to ClickFunnels 2.0,
adding one or more tags on registration,
and mapping AEvent values into ClickFunnels 2.0 custom fields.
Once these settings are defined, your initial ClickFunnels 2.0 setup within this AEvent campaign is complete.
Creating a Timeline Action to Add a ClickFunnels 2.0 Tag
Setting up a timeline action to add a tag to a contact within ClickFunnels 2.0 is easy.
Within the Timeline Builder, start by creating an action and selecting the date and time that you wish the action to occur.
Next, select the audience you are targeting, then choose your ClickFunnels 2.0 Integration and select Add Tag.
Enter or select the tag you want to apply, then click Create.
Your Add Tag action has now been created, and you will be able to view it on your timeline.
At the date and time selected, AEvent will apply that tag in ClickFunnels 2.0 for every registrant who matches the audience you selected.
This is commonly used for attendee follow-up, no-show follow-up, CTA clicked, offer seen, purchased, or other event-based segmentation.
Creating a Timeline Action to Remove a ClickFunnels 2.0 Tag
Setting up a timeline action to remove a tag from a contact within ClickFunnels 2.0 follows the same process.
Within the Timeline Builder, create a new action and define the date, time, and audience you want to target.
Then select your ClickFunnels 2.0 Integration and choose Remove Tag.
Select the tag you want removed, then click Create.
Your Remove Tag action will now appear on your timeline and will run automatically at the scheduled time for the audience selected.
This is useful when you want AEvent to keep your ClickFunnels 2.0 contact records clean and current as leads move from one stage of the event journey to another.
How to reconnect your ClickFunnels 2.0 Integration
If your ClickFunnels 2.0 integration stops working, the most common fix is to reconnect it using a fresh API Key or by re-entering the correct workspace details.
To reconnect your integration, navigate to Integrations in AEvent, locate your ClickFunnels 2.0 integration, and click Re-Connect.
You will be prompted to re-enter the same three values used during the original setup:
API Key
Workspace URL
Workspace ID
To retrieve a current API Key, return to your ClickFunnels Team Settings, open Developer Portal, then open your platform application and copy the API Key. ClickFunnels documents this flow in its Getting Started guide.
Then confirm your Workspace URL is still the correct workspace subdomain in the format https://[theirID].myclickfunnels.com/, and verify that your Workspace ID matches the workspace you want AEvent to use. ClickFunnels’ docs note that the Workspace ID is available from the workspace dashboard URL and that the correct workspace subdomain should be used for workspace-specific access.
After updating those values in AEvent, click Save or Reconnect, then click Test.
Once the test is successful, your ClickFunnels 2.0 integration is fully reconnected and ready to use again.
How to remove your ClickFunnels 2.0 Integration from AEvent
If you want to remove your ClickFunnels 2.0 integration from AEvent, navigate to Integrations, locate your ClickFunnels 2.0 integration, and click on the trashcan icon.
You will then be prompted to confirm the deletion.
NOTE: Removing this integration will immediately affect its use with any campaigns that it is active in.
If you are experiencing issues with the integration but do not want to remove it entirely, we recommend reconnecting it instead.
Once you confirm removal, the ClickFunnels 2.0 integration will no longer exist inside your AEvent account.
