In this tutorial, you'll learn how to override an AEvent header script on any page, whether it's a registration, confirmation, or replay page.

Imagine you have a registration page set up for timeline A but want to use it for timeline B without duplicating or updating the page. You can override the existing timeline header script by simply modifying the URL.

For example, if your registration page URL is https://myregistrationpage.com/register and it's configured for timeline A, you can override it to use timeline B by adding ?wtl=timelineB to the address. This will override the timeline that the page is setup for and load the page for timeline B and the next event scheduled for that timeline.

Any registrations will be for timeline B's webinar. All dynamic variables on the page will also be overridden accordingly. The page will display information for timeline B's next webinar, while timeline A will continue to function normally.

This method works similarly for confirmation pages and replay pages. (Just add your WTL to the page URL as specified in your timeline settings).

By the end of this tutorial, you'll be able to override an installed header script on any page type effortlessly!

Step 1: Access your Timeline (timeline B as our example above)

Open the timeline that you want to use, but without installing/swapping the header script.

Copy the WTL (Webinar Timeline) value from the browser's address bar of the timeline you are working with, and paste into a notepad.

Step 2: Using your WTL URLs

Below, we'll explain the best use for your Registration, Confirmation, and Replay pages. However, this method can be used anywhere an AEvent header script is installed.

Please note that you will need to exchange the value RI9wf45Pi1xAX4H, which is being used in the example below, with the WTL you retrieved from the step above.

Registration Page:

In our example, my registration page is set up to use timeline A (https://myregistrationpage.com/register). However, by using the WTL value I obtained above, if I visit my registration page and add

?wtl=Rl9wf45Pi1xAX4H, my registration page will now work for timeline B https://myregistrationpage.com/register?wtl=RI9wf45Pi1xAX4H.

Give it a try! Make sure you have both timelines scheduled, and visit your registration page with and without your WTL value in place.

Confirmation Page:

By adding the same value ?wtl=RI9wf45Pi1xAX4H, into the Confirmation Page URL within timeline B -> advanced settings, we can override the confirmation header script used with our confirmation page and timeline A.

This allows you to utilize the same confirmation page with multiple timelines.

Replay Page:

A replay page works the same way as a confirmation page. By adding your ?WTL= to your replay page URL, you can override the installed header script, utilizing the same page without duplicating or updating it!
